A Path to Healing and Hope

Emily & Scout — PTSD Service Dog

"Scout has given me back my life. Before him, I couldn't leave my house. Now I go to work, spend time with my family, and feel safe in my own skin for the first time in years."

Emily served two tours overseas before returning home with severe PTSD. For three years, she struggled to leave her apartment, maintain relationships, or hold down a job. Nightmares, hypervigilance, and panic attacks ruled her life.

After being matched with Scout, a two-year-old Golden Retriever trained specifically for PTSD support, everything changed. Scout performs room checks every night, wakes Emily from nightmares, and provides grounding pressure during panic attacks.

Today, Emily works full-time as a peer support specialist, helping other veterans navigate their own recovery journeys. She credits Scout as the turning point that made everything else possible.
